You were as good as they come. It still boggles my mind that someone else abandoned you those six years ago. You were a wreck then but we got you through it and you got us through so much more. You brought me more joy than I deserved, and gave me your love unconditionally. It was the least I could do for you to find the strength to end your pain.

Thank you for everything, my dearest loving Simon.

Herman's First Virginia Corgi Meetup

He came. 

He saw. 

He ran away. 

He was a bit scared for his first meetup. I think he just enjoyed hanging out with the people more than the Corgis. He received lots of pats while the rest of the Corgis were running around playing.  

We made it

We made it to Virginia but it still feels like we are in Wyoming.

Happy birthday to Hermann!

First, he decided a friend's work clothes were his present. They were not. Even if they do smell like a barbecue.

Then he got his birthday rubber chicken and promptly chewed her legs off. 

So as his... reward... for being such a good (?) dog he was allowed to wear his birthday tiara.

Hobbes

Hobbes is in heaven now. We miss him.

Hobbes is sick

Please keep Hobbes in your thoughts. He's sick at the vet.

This afternoon Hobbes was diagnosed with pancreatitis, early kidney disease and possibly megacolon. We'll know more tomorrow. He'll be spending the night at the vet getting fluids and other treatment.

"Don't worry, Hobbes. I'll watch your bowl while you're away. You just get better, 'kay?"
